GE2020 Singapore: PAP launches manifesto
The People's Action Party (PAP) general election 2020 manifest focuses on job savings and economic resumption. The welfare of migrant workers; support each other to stay safe during the COVID-19 pandemic.
On Saturday (June 27), PAP Executive Secretary Lee Hsien Loong announced a manifesto entitled "Our Life, Our Work, Our Future", with elections saying "in the middle of the most severe crisis the world has faced for many decades".
"Right now, keeping Singapore going, flying straight and level safely through the turbulent weather is the most challenging and urgent priority for the Government," he said.
Mr. Lee, who is also prime minister, said the manifest focus was on how the PAP would work together to overcome this "one-generation crisis."
He said this included:
- How Singapore workers and migrant workers protect COVID-19 and keep Singapore's healthcare system from overwhelming
- How to Restart to Transform the Economy, Save Jobs and Businesses, and Relocate Workers for New Jobs
- How it provides each other care and support so that people can protect themselves from uncertainty and danger
Lee said these issues are people's minds, people in Singapore understand that this is not business or politics as usual, and want to know how the government solves their problems Added.
In a statement, the PAP said the manifest has announced these plans, including protection of public health, investment in health care, conservation and creation of jobs, and retraining of workers.
The manifest also states plans to stabilize the company and help it transform and grow. Support households, vulnerable people, and poor people. Revitalize the city and the center. And to live sustainably.
Long-term plan
In addition to working with COVID-19, Mr Li said he also outlined PAP's long-term plans to build a "better Singapore", not just to survive the storm.
"But also to maintain the long-term direction for the country, and keep on building and improving Singapore," he stated."But even the best leadership team is only as strong as the support it gets," he said."So we must fight hard to convince Singaporeans that our PAP team is their team, and deserves their full support."
To implement the manifesto, Lee said PAP needed experience, new ideas, and the full support of dedicated Singaporeans and skilled leaders.
