The Lakeside transformation plans were first unveiled during the National Day Rally in 2014. After five years of waiting, Jurong Lakeside Garden was finally opened to the public on April 27 this year! This 53-hectare garden is just the first phase of the 90-hectare Jurong Lake Gardens, with two more in the works. Here are some highlights or the third national gardens of Singapore that you should not miss.

Take a leisurely walk along the Rasau Walk. The 300-meter long promenade takes you around the wetlands and closes to the edge of Jurong Lake. In addition to enjoying more than 50 plant species, you can try to spot a variety of water-rich creatures and birds.

Prance around the aesthetically attractive grasslands, a solid piece of land covered by tall grasses. If you are an avid social media user, this lawn will certainly be the perfect backdrop for a whimsical Instagram post. While you are here, lookout for a variety of small birds that visit the area for food and shelter.

Located just a short walk from Lakeside MRT Station, head to Jurong Lakeside Garden for a letter flight from the city!

If you're a foodie, you'll love the Deliveroo Food Market! Yes, it is run by the same online delivery company that we all know and love. Instead of ordering via the Deliveroo app, you can now come and dine in this space with 40 seats. The Deliveroo Food Market, opened on March 12 this year, exudes a minimalist, futuristic atmosphere while being decked out in the distinctive colour of Deliveroo.

You will notice a lack of frontline staff when you enter. This is because the ordering system is fully automated! First, you can order and make your payment at one of the available kiosks. Then look for your name on the digital board to keep track of the status of your order. When your food is ready to be picked up, simply double-tap on the digital screen with your name on it and voila, your food will be served.

There are a total of ten checkpoints on the Coast-to-Coast Trail. Some checkpoints are the favourite parks of nature lovers, such as Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park and Punggol Waterway Park. Take a break and keep yourself hydrated at these checkpoints!

Learn a few things about the biodiversity around you via NPark's mobile C2C app for a healthy journey. Together with your cute in-app guide, Phil, the magazine augmented reality-activated animals will come to life and share interesting facts with you. Built-in 1953, it's no wonder Queenstown is teeming with history. Nowadays, however, the district is making many redevelopment programs and old buildings are being demolished. The residents love their neighbourhood history so much that they want to preserve the essence of old Queenstown. That is why Museum @ My Queenstown was born on February 23.

This quaint museum is tucked away in one of Queenstown's many shophouses. What makes this museum fascinating is that it is fully funded and managed by residents of Queenstown itself! Stroll through the memory as you look at memorabilia and artifacts dating back to the 1970s. Some of the items housed in the museum include iconic signage, old school technology and music that induces nostalgia. Young and old alike will certainly enjoy this charming museum.
